Taking us to visit the factory’s production technology line under the special consent of the director of Lao Cai copper smelting company, technology engineer Doan Vu Long, Head of the plant’s Technology Department said: Lao Cai copper smelting factory is the largest and only industrial copper smelting facility in Vietnam smelting according to the most advanced pyrometallurgical technology today, manufactured and transferred by China’s Thuy Khau Son furnace.
The factory has been in operation since August 2008, but due to the operation and use of very new technology, the first time “running to the maximum” is the main thing. Therefore, in 2009-2010, only 60% of the designed capacity was produced and in 2011 the Lao Cai copper smelting plant went into production according to the designed capacity.
